CHURCH HILL – Ada Smith, 100, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her residence.

Ada a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She was the oldest member of McPheeters Bend Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Allie Smith on June 16, 1987, parents, Thomas & Leah McLain, grandson Terry Jones, great-granddaughter Nicole Jones, son-in-law Haynes Jones, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ada is survived by her son Carroll (Edna) Smith, daughter Mary Jones, grandchildren Kim Smith Woods, Tony (Karen) Smith, Steven Smith, Debbie Molter, Greg Jones, Donna Jones, Sherry (Rick) Ott, Jeff Jones, great grandchildren Jodi (Corey) Williams, Julie (Evan) Arnold, Christopher (Megan) Smith, Savannah (Travis) Kerstetter, Ben Smith, Kevin Smith, Elisa Featherstone, Kenny Molter, Brandy (Josh) Sumpter, Angela (Shawn) Capko, Christina Hernandez, great-great grandchildren, Hadley Williams, Kayla Sumpter, Cole Jones, Christopher Featherstone, Silas & Shea Capko, sisters, Vesta Dobbs, Verna Gilbert, Naomi Blevins, Lola (Wayne) Henry, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Roberts & Pastor Heath Smith officiating. The burial will follow in McPheeters Bend Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Smith, Steven Smith, Greg Jones, Jeff Jones, Christopher Smith, Ben Smith, Kevin Smith & Eugene Dobbs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Cradic, Alan McLain, Evan Arnold, Corey Williams & Travis Kerstetter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Ada’s memory.
