SURGOINSVILLE – Cecila Elaine Thacker, 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her brother Wayne, sister Helen, and two nieces Ann Dickerson, Kathy Calhoun.

Cecila was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County.

She is preceded in death by her parents Delmar & Flora Fansler Thacker, brothers Dewey Thacker, Bob Thacker, R.C. Thacker, & Jim Thacker, two sisters Viola Thacker & Ruby Higgins Hensley.

Survivors are brother Jerry Wayne Thacker, special sister Helen Thacker of the home, sister Agnes Bishop & Ruth Brown, an adopted sister Amy Peters, husband David, adopted brother Tony Thacker, wife Chris, two special nieces Ann Dickerson & Kathy Calhoun along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Scalf & Rev. Arry Hickman officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Thacker Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are to meet at the funeral home by 12:45 PM to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Tackett, Ricky Calhoun, Daniel Hunley, Devon Hunley, David Crabtree & Tim Thacker & Honorary Pallbearer will be Wayne Greer.
