MT. CARMEL – Fay Bowlin Christian, 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at her residence.

She was a 1962 graduate of Church Hill High School and retired from Indian Path Pathology. She volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and the Community Clothes Closet. She was a member of the Red Hats and Golden Girls. Fay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She was a member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, sister and friend to many. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Christian; parents, Hugh and Dovie Bowlin; brothers, Ronald and Cliff Bowlin; and nephew, Darren Bowlin.

Fay is survived by her sons, Scott Dorton and wife Cathy, Jason Dorton and wife Deana; grandsons, Luke, Ben and Eli Dorton; twin brother, Ray Bowlin and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Thelma Bowlin and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or may call at her residence at any time. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Roller and Rev. Mitch Russell officiating. Music will be provided by Liberty Quartet. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 13 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
