Surgoinsville, TN

Frances Thurman Dickerson, age 91, of Surgoinsville, went home with her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

Mrs. Dickerson was a native of Hawkins County, was a member of the Fudges Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as the little children’s Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a very caring and giving and always putting family and others before herself.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Dickerson; son, James Dickerson and her parents, Pearl Looney Thurman and John Leonard Thurman.

Survivors include her son, Ronnie D. Dickerson and wife, Matilda, daughter-in-law, Linda Arnold Dickerson, grandsons, Jason Dickerson and wife Jackie, Jeremy Dickerson and wife, April, Jon Marc Dickerson and wife Kristina. Great grandchildren, Andrew Dickerson, Skylar Dickerson, Gunner Dickerson and Trevor Dickerson, sisters, Blevins Charles and Billie Carmack and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 6:30 PM Thursday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home, funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 6:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Friday at the Church Hill Memorial Gardens with the grandsons and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 AM Friday morning to go in procession to the cemetery.
