MOUNT CARMEL – Robert Guy Williams, 98, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his residence.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was of the Methodist faith. He worked 30 + years at Holston Defense as a Chief Operator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was one of the oldest living World War II veterans in Hawkins County and was a lifetime member of the VFW/American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Williams Dinsmore; father, George W. Williams; step father, Ray Dinsmore; wives, Mickie Davis Williams and Florence Bennett Williams; sisters, Alice Hickman, Pearl Housewright, Mildred Housewright, and Lola Chess; brothers, Clyde Williams and Harrison Williams; daughter-in-law, Pearl Miller Williams.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Hunt (John Alvin);son, Raymond Williams (Susan); grandchildren, Sherri Williams, Ryan Williams (Leizel), Robby Hunt (Kim), Nathan Hunt (Susan), Rikki McCugh (Ben), Devin Thomas (Erin), and Jordan Thomas; great grandchildren, Abby and Adam Hunt, Emily and Ethan Williams, and Jenna Thomas; special friend, Betty Williams; and his best buddy, Snazer.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 – 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ed McLain and Pastor Leroy Davis officiating. Music will be provided by True Faith Quartet. The burial will follow to East Lawn Memorial Park. Military Honors will be conducted by Hawkins County Color Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
