CHURCH HILL – Sylvia “Cootie” Dockery, 69, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Hawkins & Sullivan County. She was a member of Lyons Park Missionary Baptist Church. Sylvia loved cooking and taking care of her precious family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kyle Collier; parents, Garnet & Marie Sims; sisters, Reba Long & Mildred Quisenberry; brother, Vernon Sims.

Sylvia is survived by husband, Larry Dockery; children, Sabrina Mullins, Savonna Collier (Phillip Tomlinson), & Carolyn Flanagan (Mark); grandchildren, Aaron & Alexandria Mullins, Cody & Austin Dishner, & Erica “Shay” Collier; brothers, Buck Sims (Carol) & Willis Sims (Sue); sister, Linda Manis (Harold); brother-in-law, Monroe Long; several nieces, nephews, aunts, & uncles.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. The burial will follow to Elm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family & friends.
