Anna Jeanette Odom Church Hill, TN Anna Jeanette Odom, age 87, of Church Hill , went to be with the Lord and reunited with loved ones on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness. She was born July 5, 1925 in Lee County, VA to Emmitt G. and Allie Gunn Grace. Jeanette lived most of her adult life in Church Hill, TN and was married to Carroll Mack Odom. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a cub scout den mother, substitute teacher loved working with children. She was a very talented seamstress and loved working with arts and crafts. She was of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Carroll M. Odom, sisters; Blanche Blakemore, Virginia Hayes. One brother, Clyde Grace and granddaughter; Cassie Marie Odom. Jeanette is survived by two sons; Carroll D. Odom and wife Thuy, Dennis Odom and wife, Carmen of Mount Carmel. Daughter; Donna Odom of surgoinsville. Grandchildren; Dennis Clemons, Ashley Coffey, Courtney Parker, Macie Odom, Cheyenne Odom and Doan Odom. Great grandchildren; Mykaela Clemons, Damion Allen, Natalee Odom, Triston Coffey and Carson Coffey. Sister; Louise Wheeler of Grand Junction, CO, sister-in-law; Peggy Odom of Rogersville. Niece; Debbie Whitsman of Grand Junction, CO. Nephews; David Hayes and Darrell Hayes both of Pennington Gap, VA. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence of her son, Dennis Odom, 241 Atlanta Ave., Mount Carmel. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral home Chapel with David Hayes officiating. Music will be provided by Debbie Trent. Graveside services will be conducted 11:30 AM Thursday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:15 AM Thursday. Serving as pallbearers will be, Darrell Hayes, Chris Hicks, Doan Odom, Tony Spitzer and Larry Noel. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Snapp, Tommy Gilreath, Sinetker Ryans, Fuzz Marshall and Dennis Clemons. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the loving care, respect and kindness given to our mother by the stff at Church Hill Health care and Rehab Center especially the nurses and assistants of D Wing.
