Hope everyone knows how much you all have been on my mind the past few days. When I think of Uncle Toddy, I always think of smiles and laughter. My favorite story to tell about him happened after my mom thought it a good idea to cut ALL my hair off into a pixie cut before I went to the first grade so it wouldn't get food in it from the child's lunch tray behind me?!?!?!? That week, someone had passed and the whole family was at the funeral home. Uncle Toddy didn't recognize me and sincerely said to dad, "Who is that ugly red headed boy? I know I've seen him somewhere"!! I have gotten many a laugh from that honest mistake and hope it gives you a smile now. I will miss the man that always made me feel welcome no matter what and was always smiling when I saw him. We were blessed to have him in our lives. Much love to you all.

Gale and I forever will remember what a wonderful friend and neighbor this precious man and his wife (Sis) have been to us. If we had looked the world over, we would have never found anyone who would have been better to us. He treated us like family. There was never a time when we went to his house that he did not make us feel welcome. He always wanted us to sit down and stay awhile. He always tried to find something to give us - even if it was just a bottle of water. The world would be a better place if everyone could be like this man. He will be greatly missed! We love you all and we are praying for the family. We cling to the hope that we will see him again one day because of the testimony he leaves us behind.

For the entire family you have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Husband and Dad. "Toddy" was a dear friend and a big teaser. Vance and I rode his bus to school everyday through high school. He was a matchmaker and a listener to teenage love. Both of us thought the world of Toddy. I am so proud to have had our paths cross. He was a wonderful and caring person. Until we meet again dear friend!

Donna and Family: Our prayers are with all of you! "Toddy" was always smiling and talking to everyone! He really enjoyed coming to the Volunteer Ruritan and eating when we would have our meals. I remember going over to Mr. Hugh Alley's store with my father-in-law J.C. Mellons and seeing Toddy there. May GOD BLESS all of you! GREAT MEMORIES! Darrell & Sandra Bishop Ruby Mellons

Daddy is the nicest man I have ever known. He shared his kindness and love with everyone he met. His fun-loving spirit and love for his family and friends lives on in his son, Shorty, and his grandsons Will and Bryan. God truly blessed me by allowing me to have Daddy in my life.

What an awesome man we had the privilege to fellowship with for years. So many good memories at Okolona. He was big hearted and always loved his church family. Toddt always had sweets in his pocket for the kids and when he eould give them a piece he would smile sheepishly at the parents as if to say, "if you dont approve me and the kid does." Our heartfelt prayers are with you all today. I know his loss will be felt by many here but God certainly will carry you through. God bless each of you

Words could never describe this great friend. He was one of the most generous persons I have ever known. He would give you the shirt off his back. Yes, Toddy, "Jesus is the One". You and Mr. Bostic can now sing it together again. Tell him JoshuA says hello.
