Clarence H. Williams, age 86, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, TN following an extended illness. Mr. Williams was a native of Hawkins County, and had lived in Maryland for several years before moving back to Rogersville around twenty years ago. He was a retired building contractor, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the United States Army having served overseas during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Williams, children, James Mark Williams, Jerry Michael Williams and Kathy Matthews. Parents, Walter and Ethel Chaney Williams , Brothers, Robert Williams, W.B. Williams and Glenn Williams, sisters, Juanita Roper and Lois Slater. Survivors include his daughter, Audrey Williams of Rogersville, Grandchildren, Crystal Watson, Daniel Matthews, Heather, Shinn, Jeffrey Williams and Jason Williams. Great grandchildren, Nathaniel Patrick and Luke Shinn. Brother, Edward Williams of Maryland, sisters, Margaret Inez Heck of Rogersville and Norma Ruth Asbury of Deleware. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM Monday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel . Military graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at the McPheeters Bend Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the Hawkins County Color Guard.
