CHURCH HILL – Dorothy Ruby Lampkins, 77, passed away on November 28, 2022, at Ridgecrest Manor following an extended illness.
Ruby was born in 1945 and was a lifelong resident of the Stanley Valley Community until her health declined. She was cafeteria employee at Volunteer High School for many years and loved seeing all the kids. She was a member at Valley Center United Methodist Church in Stanley Valley. Ruby was dedicated to her family, a wonderful mother, and the hardest working woman you would ever meet, taking care of her family, and always helping her husband on the farm.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence, and Mabel Housewright Lawson; her loving husband, William Lampkins; and sister, Helen Lawson.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lampkins of Johnson City; sisters, Gladys Brice of Surgoinsville, TN, Virgie Lampkins of Lebannon, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Church Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor James Adams officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
