CHURCH HILL – Earl Benton, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Earl was born on April 18, 1940 in Hawkins County. He was the son of the late William T. & Bessie R. Benton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James K. Benton and Mark D. Benton; son-in-law, Eddie Patterson; great granddaughters, Raegan and Rainnee Neeley; several brothers and sisters.

Earl is survived by his wife, Frances W. Benton; daughters, Vickie Patterson (Kyle) and Amy Bradshaw (Bart); son, David Benton; grandchildren, Jason Patterson (Angie), Eddie J. Patterson (Megan), Brandon Byrd (Katie), Josh Bradshaw (Jaqueline), Chris Bradshaw, Aaron Bradshaw (Kendra), Danny Benton, and Kellie Neeley; great grandchildren, Abigail Bradshaw, Madison Darnell, Landon Benton, and Jamison Neeley; sister, Ethel Barnette; special brother-in-law, Lucian Christian along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh and Rev. Bob Simpson officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Benton Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 PM to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be Jason, Justin, Josh, Chris, Aaron, and Brandon.
