Eugene Hammonds, 75, passed away on Sunday (June 8, 2014) at his residence. Rev. Hammonds was a Minister and Evangelist for many years, having mentored and helped several generations come to the knowledge of Christ.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Hammonds, parents, Mary and Nelce Hammonds, daughter, Roxanne, son, David “Day Day”, sisters,Gertie and Lucille, brothers, Don and Charles. He is survived by his children, Debra Carroll and her husband, Ron, Christie Lingerfelt and her husband, Jody, Regina Crawford and her husband, Duane, Paul Stewart and his wife, Chris, Tammy Davenport and her husband, Carl, brother, Curt Hammonds, sister, Jeanette Blaylock and her husband, Vaughn, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Thacker officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday at Elm Spring Cemetery. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 A.M. to go in procession. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
