JOHNSON CITY – George Edward Brewster, 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, December 16, 2019 at his residence.

George was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area. He was a loving husband and father who cared for his family. He was mechanic by trade and a cowboy at heart who had a need for speed. George loved horses, hunting, racing, motorcycles and spending time under the hood of a car. He was a true animal lover…but not the mountain kind of animal lover.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Campbell Brewster; sisters, Mary Alice Laster and Sharon Brewster Brown; brothers, William “Bill” Brewster, Jr., Thomas “Tom Wayne” Brewster and John Henry Brewster.

George is survived by his wife, Leona Brewster; son, George Brewster, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Shawn Vanover; sisters, Imogene Brewster and Brenda Richards; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would be honored if you would join them for visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brian Laster officiating. The burial will follow to Armstrong Cemetery.

George will be laid to rest by honored family and friends acting as pallbearers.
