Ida Grace Burchfield CHURCH HILL- Ida Grace Burchfield, 91, passed away on Wednesday, (April 3, 2013) at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness. She was a member of Cherokee Mountain Baptist Church in Johnson City, where she loved to sing her favorite song, “The Model Church”. Ms. Burchfield worked at the Mountaineer restaurant in Church Hill until she was 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Zeppie Ford, husband, William Herman Burchfield, and sister, Lilly Mae Jenkins. She is survived by her daughters; Ellen Nelson and her husband, David of Church Hill, Frances Hogsed and her husband, Ron of Johnson City, brothers; Enoch Ford and his wife, Mildred B. of Mt. Carmel, Eckel Ford and his wife, Marie of Church Hill, grandchildren; Regina Simpson, Thelma Milano, Delena Luccas, Billy Nelson, Frances Denise Languedoc, and Lee Hogsed, great grandchildren; Nacoma Simpson, Jeremiah Simpson, Tomah Shawn Nelson, Cheyenne Nelson, Ashley, Michael, and Jessica Languedoc, and Seth Luccas, great great granddaughter, Madison, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill and anytime at the home of her granddaughter, Regina Simpson, 5853 Stardust Rd, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Whaley officiating. Music will be provided by Linda Parker and Ron Hogsed. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 P.M. to go in procession.
