CHURCH HILL- Macy Hurd Price, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (November 27, 2014) at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center. Macy was born on November 11, 1921 in Blackwater, VA. She was saved at an early age and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Roxie Hurd, husband, Herman Price, step daughter, Mary Ruth White, step son, Conard Price, sisters, Ruby Bradley, Buna Gordon, Lucy Hurd, Nettie Tankersley, brothers, Reese Hurd, M.D. Hurd, Lonnie Hurd, Lawrence Hurd, and Henry Hurd. She is survived by her son, Joe Price and daughter in law, Jeri Price of Kingsport, step daughter, Shirley Dean Young of Ottlewah, TN, brother, John Hurd and his wife, Helen (Macy’s best friend) of Church Hill, TN, grandchildren, Scot Price and wife, Kellie, Jessica Swan and husband, Howard, great grandchildren, Ashleigh Waldron and husband, Stephan, and Noah Price, one great great grandchild, Walker Waldron, step grandchildren, Dennis Allison, Pam Stuart, Conard Young, Keith Young, Debbie Wilson, Kenneth Price, Duane Price, special friend and caregiver, Susie Wilkens, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Saturday at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glen Bradley officiating. Music will be provided by the Bradley family. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 P.M. to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Scot Price, Howard Swan, Stephen Waldron, Jim Van Buren, Paul Lewis, Noah Price. Honorary pallbearer will be Walker Waldron. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
