SURGOINSVILLE – Mamie Ruth Rutledge, age 93, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Church Hill Healthcare & Rehab.
Mamie was a lifelong resident of Surgoinsville and was the oldest living member of the Amis Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Edward Lee Calton and Julie Ann Cooper Calton, brothers; Garnie, Earl, and Clarence Calton.
Survivors include her daughter; Rebecca Jane Peters, Grandchildren; Jared Peters (Erin), and Jennifer Peters Bowling (Sonya) and 4 Great grandchildren. Sisters, Geraldine Arnold (Rex), Pauline Burchfield, Helen Worley, Nephew; Brian Burchfield and niece; Neena Woods.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday at the Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Music will be provided by her nephews Brian Burchfield. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
