CHURCH HILL – Our beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Huckaby Christian, 86, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus around 6:00 AM. Tuesday, (October 21, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnie J. Christian, daughter, Dorothy June Hastings Christian, mother and father, John Reynolds and Lou Verna Alley Huckaby, four brothers, sister-in-law Mildred Jones and son-in-law Ronnie McLain. Surviving her are her only son, Terry Lynn Christian of Kingsport, daughters, Betty Sue McLain of Church Hill and Judy Stewart of the home, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her great-great grandson is Maddox Frazier, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill and any time at the home. Services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Christian, Caleb Christian, Chad McLain, Aaron Smith, Benjamin Christian, Jacob Christian, Brent Mullins, and Eric Stewart.
