CHURCH HILL – Mary Katie Brice, 88, departed this life on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mary was a member of Lyons Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. She greeted all with a sweet smile. Duties held in church choir member, usher board, deaconess, and conference worker. Mary was loved by all and she was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, & friend. Her favorite song was “Jesus on the Main Line”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Sallie Price; brothers, Melvin, Thomas, Charles, Robert, & Maxine Price; sister, Minnie Cox; dearly beloved daughter, Marcheta Lenetta Ford; loving husband, Bill Brice.

Mary is survived by her sister, Elsie Horn; granddaughter, Chasidy Ford; great granddaughters, Rory Ford Mendenhall, & Rylee Ford Cowden; son-in-law, Richard Allen Ford & a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Comage, Rev. Pamela Hoard, & Rev. James McDaniels officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. R.L. Mitchell. The burial will follow the funeral service to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family & friends.
