CHURCH HILL – Ronald Scott Tate, Sr., 79, went to meet his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 22, 2019, surrounded by his family at his Church Hill residence.

Ron was a fun-loving family man who enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends. He was a long-time member of Chapter C of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and was a local plumbing contractor for over 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Helen (Davidson) Tate and his brothers, Roy Jackson Tate and Robert Meryl Tate.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha Ann Tate, his son Ronald Scott Tate, Jr. and wife Tammy, Church Hill, daughter Lea Hobbs, Church Hill, and son Josh Tate and wife Courtney, Church Hill. His beloved grandchildren are Jennifer Tate, Melissa Tate, Daniel Lethcoe, Isabelle Tate, Sawyer Tate and Jack Tate. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Salley Tate, Port Charlotte, FL, and Lynette Tate, Bainbridge, GA.

Receiving friends will take place at Johnson Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill on Wednesday, July 24 from 5-7 PM followed by a memorial service conducted by Rev. James Adams with music provided by Steve Fletcher.
