Church Hill, TN‘ Little Fighter’Addison Lucille Leigh Staton “Addy Lu” 5 months old, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at her home. Addy spent 4 months at Vanderbilt fighting for her life. She was born with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, and at a month old she received the gift of life, a new heart. A selfless mother gave Addy her gift,. Addy touched many in her few short months on earth. She was too perfect for earth and Jesus needed her for bigger and better missions in Heaven. Her smile, laugh and fighting attitude will never be forgotten. Addy Lu was a fighter and was loved by many.She is preceded in death by, Tyler Steen, Olivia Nutter, Gladys Ketron, Bill Ketron, Joe Newland, Don Spivey, Arnold Staton, Rena Griffin, Bill Nutter and special friend, Harper Wooten.She is survived by her parents, Corey and April Staton of the home, sisters; Isabela Sanchez and Riley Staton of the home. Grandparents; Anissa and Kirby Spivey of Gate City, VA, Buddy and Betty Staton of Florida, Randy and Kardie Hammonds of Church Hill, great grandparents; Steve and Karen Newland of Church Hill, Frances and Rudolf Hammonds of Kingsport, Lois Staton of Florida, great great grandparents, Eula Newland of Mount Carmel, great grandma; Faye Spivey of Gate City, VA. Great great grandma; Hatti Eller . Special uncle; Jody Newland, aunts; Krystal Spivey, Ashley Newland, uncles; Steve Metcalf, Daniel Hammonds and special friends Barbara Moore and Robyn Gillenwater.Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Saturday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ralph Owens and Walt Way officiating.Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Sunday at the Spivey – Hammonds family cemetery in Gate City, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 am Sunday morning to go in procession to the cemetery.Serving as pallbearer is her father, Corey Staton.
