KINGSPORT- Etta Dean “Helen” Ward, 77, passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born in Alabama and had lived in this area for many years. She owned Stop and Go video store in Kingsport several years ago. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Irene Gann, son, David Coy Ward, daughter, Ivy Diana Hamly, brothers, Eugene and Nathan Gann. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Coy Ward, son, Donald Anthony Ward, daughter, Debra Barry, grandchildren, Justin Ward, Crystal Hamly, Joshua Brooks and his wife, Amber, and Angel Barry, brother, Raymond Gann, sisters, Margie Magouirk, Elizabeth Simmons, Helen Strickland, and Rachel Honeycutt, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Stout and Rev. Teddy Webb officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at North fork cemetery.
