Church Hill, TNGerald Lynn Caldwell, age 62, slipped peacefully into Heavens glory on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 after a long and difficult illness with his family at his side. He was born and raised in the McPheeters Bend community to Parvin and Nettie Caldwell, joining his two sisters who spoiled him his entire life. He had a wonderfully simple childhood where he learned to love farming, raising livestock, the Atlanta Braves, all things UT Vols and most importantly Jesus his Savior. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Church Hill.He attended McPheeters Bend Elementary School and graduated from Church Hill High School, after graduation he worked at and retired from Eastman Chemical Company, retiring in 2010 after 37 plus years of service. In his retirement, he worked a few years at the Church Hill Fitness Center where he made even more close friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; Parvin and Nettie Skelton Caldwell. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Donna Caldwell of the home, son; Alex Caldwell and wife, Laura, grandson; William Thomas Caldwell, sisters; Nina Arnold and husband, Ronald, and Jean Caldwell, niece; Alisha Collier and husband, Jamie, great nephew; Jackson Collier, mother-in-law; Marie Dougherty, several cousins and countless friends. His two faithful companions Maggie and Molly, and two very special friends and caregivers, Bill Johnson and Bill Dorton.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt and Rev. Regina Shelton officiating, Graveside services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday at the McPheeters Bend Cemetery with Ed Norton, Bill Johnson, Bill Dorton, Jason Skelton, Grover Dobbs, Jr., Franklin Dobbs, Bert Powell and Mark Derrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Bray, Troy Alley, Danny Hurd, Lynn Parker, Allen Goad, Keith Hawkins and Ronald Arnold. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM Friday morning to leave in procession to the cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O.
