Church Hill, TN Harold Floyd Gilliam, age 82, of Church Hill passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Gilliam was born in Sullivan County but had spent most of his life in Church Hill. He retired from Holliston Mills with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Clay Lodge #386, and was a member of the Higher Ground Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a son; Chris Gilliam, Parents; Charlie & Mattie Churchwell Gilliam, Brothers; John Gilliam and Earl Gilliam, Sisters; Mary Burke and Shirley Smith. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Louise Taylor Gilliam of the home. His son; Mike Gilliam of Kingsport, Grandchildren; Nathan Gilliam, Carrie Jones and husband, Quincey, Piper Anderson and husband, Brandon, and Derrick Gilliam. 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 8 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins and Rev. Shannon Sawyer officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday at the Elm Springs Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Elbert Taylor, Lee Taylor, Martin Taylor, Jon Simpson, Jaren Simpson and Brandon Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Taylor, James Tipton, John Gray and Elmer Cross.
