Henry David Hutson, 71, passed away Saturday April 29th, 2017 at the home of his daughter following a brief illness. Henry was of the Baptist faith and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins and Sullivan County. He was a veteran of the US Army where he received numerous decorations. He retired from the Kingsport Press.He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Osborne Hutson, parents Sam J. & Margaret Benton Hutson, brothers Marcell Hutson & Cecil Hutson, and sister Carolyn Murray.Henry is survived by his daughter Becky Gragg (David), special niece Louise Osborne, special nephew Lynn Hutson, brother Edward Hutson (Mazell), lifelong pet companion Pepper, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many friends.Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating. Graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at McPheeters Bend Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Posts 3/265 Honor Guard prior to the memorial service.
