Whitesburg, TN Rev. Jack Edward Thomas, age 68, of Whitesburg departed this life for his Heavenly home on April 17, 2017. He passed peacefully at Mountain Home VA Hospital in Johnson City after a long illness. He was a police officer for 37 years and a Coast Guard Veteran. He loved Music from an early age and was known as the Gospel Burl Ives Singer of gospel music, songwriter and in the last few years a wedding Minister. Above all he loved the Lord and this was his witness and testimony for him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Mary Louise Thomas and brother, William Thomas. He leaves behind his soul mate and wife, Connie Thomas, stepson, Rev. Tim Greer, daughter, Amy Thomas, son Jason Thomas, stepdaughter, Robin Calton and special son-in-law, Carl. Granddaughters, Erica Atkinson, Jessica Lynn Greer, Lindsay and Anna Lee Thomas and grandson, Kyle Atkinson, great granddaughter, Jasmine Barrett. Brothers, Mikey, Jerry and Bob, special sister-in-law, Nancy Manis, Chassie Gilreath (Randy), special aunt, Carolyn Atchley and several nieces, nephews and uncles. Calling hours are from 1 to 2 pm Monday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Memorial services will be conducted 2 pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Sturgill and Rev. Tim Greer officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Posts 3/265 Honor Guard prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
