CHURCH HILL- Mack R. Armstrong, 81, went home to be with the Lord Sunday (May 22, 2016) at his home following an apparent heart attack.Mr. Armstrong was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and attended Elm Spring United Methodist Church. He was a retired supervisor with AFG Industries with over 25 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Kingsport Antique and Rod Club.He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Roberts Armstrong, son, Mackie Armstrong, his parents, O. M. and Ebbie Reed Armstrong, two brothers, Buddy Armstrong and Rex Armstrong, sister, Peggy Broyles.He is survived by three sisters, Jo Ann Amis, Surgoinsville; Grace Jeffers, Church Hill and Joyce Brickey, Richmond, VA; four brothers, James Armstrong, Church Hill; Glen Armstrong and wife, Charlene, Kingsport; Wayne Armstrong and wife, Sherry, Church Hill; Bob Armstrong and wife Carol, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the Fellowship Hall at Elm Springs United Methodist Church and the residence.Services will be conducted Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Cutshaw and Rev.
