MOUNT CARMEL – Rev. Derek Bell traded the sickness and suffering of this life for the glories of Heaven. He was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday (November 1, 2016) at Holston Velley Medical Center following a short illness.In his 49 years, Derek faithfully served his Savior in ministry. He was a loving son, faithful husband, adoring father and grandfather and a devoted pastor of CrossPoint Church and was a former pastor of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Church Hill. He was a native of Nashville, TN a graduate of Andersonville Seminary. He had lived in the Church Hill, Mount Carmel area for the past 14 years.He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa “Missy” Lamb Bell, Mount Carmel; daughter, Kayla Bell Oliphant and husband, Andrew, Knoxville; son, Caleb Allen Michael Bell, Mount Carmel; special grandson, Ezkiel Alan Oliphant; his parents, James Michael and Dianne Gann Bell, Joelton, TN; two brothers, Rev. Jason Lane Bell and wife, Kristi, Joelton, TN; Rev. Brandon Todd Bell and wife, Christie, Chapmansboro, TN; several nieces and nephew.A celebration of Derek’s life will be held by his family, Friday at 5:00 P.M. at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Church Hill, a special time to remember Derek and how he has touched so many lives.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. Oak Hill Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Bryant Hill, Tony Cradic, Jamey Lane, Mark Johnson, Shannon Monroe, Adrian Smith, Andy Oliphant and Allen Lamb.The family request those desiring may make memorial contributions to CrossPoint Church, P.
