Kingsport, TNRuby May McIver, age 80, of Kingsport, TN passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Gray following an extended illness. Ruby was born May 19, 1936 in Zahns Corner, Ohio to Charles Henry Martin and Anna Schuster Martin. She had lived in Church Hill for 45 years before moving to Kingsport, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was retired from Rental Uniform and Silver Lake Moble Home Estates.She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde “Mac” McIver in 2008, her parents, sister; Marie Tomlin and brother; Jacob Martin.Survivors include her son; Bruce Robert McIver and wife, Jodi of Tip City, Ohio, daughters; Linda Duncan of Kingsport, Tracey McClure and husband, Tim of Greensboro, NC, Grandchildren; Jessica and Michael McCain, Taylor McClure, Wayne Chinn, Beau and Michelle Chinn, Blake and Chelsea Chinn, Dustin and Cierrah McIver, Austin McClure and Spencer McClure, great grandchildren; Carter Chinn, Kinley McCain, Brody McIver and Emma Chinn. Brother; Charles “Bud” Martin of Jackson Ohio, sisters; Darlene Davis of Waverly, Ohio ,Donna Brown of Owl Creek, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm Friday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime Friday at the home of her granddaughter, Jessica McCain, 511 Spruce St., Mount Carmel, TN. Funeral services will be conducted 7 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bud Beverly officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Saturday at the Church Hill Memory Gardens with Austin McClure, Spencer McClure, Dustin McIver, Michael McCain, Tim McClure and Jamie Enos serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am Saturday morning to go in procession to the cemetery.We would like to express the deepest gratitude to the health care professionals who have taken care of Ruby. Your compassion and guidance through her illness have been exceptional. There is no way to name each one of you, but do know that you are greatly appreciated.
