KINGSPORT – Fred K. Wells, 89, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 2, 2018 at The Waters of Johnson City following an extended illness. Fred served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II and Korean War. He retired from the VA Medical Center as a nursing assistant. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. Fred is survived by his sister Delray Clark, children Linda, Teresea, Keith, Angela, Mary, Sheri, Kathy and Brandy along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; special friend Frances Lee. A graveside service will be at 2:30 PM on Monday Jan. 8, 2018 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 3/265 Honor Guard. A special thank you to the VA doctors and nurses, the Caris Hospice Staff and to the staff at The Waters of Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, donations of food to Church Hill Food Bank may be made in memory of Fred.
