MT. CARMEL – Nealie Parker Stroupe, 105, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24 at her residence following a brief illness. Nealie was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Liberty Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and loved to cook. She is preceded in death by her first husband; Carson Parker, second husband; Carl Stroupe, and son; Darrell Parker. Nealie is survived by her children; Don, Jim, Bill, Darrell, Edna, Glenda, and David, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 26 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Elder Fred Gilreath, Elder Paul Strong and Elder Jerry Scalf officiating. The burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
