Michael Ray Brooks

Michael Ray Brooks, age 58, of Mount Carmel, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center following a brief illness.

Michael was born in Sullivan County and had lived majority of his life in Hawkins County. He attended the Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church and was a certified welder working for several companies in the area.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ray Brooks & Shirley Miller Brooks, Step-son, Jackson Lawson and father-in-law, Wayne Morgan.

Survivors include his wife; Mary Morgan Brooks, son; Benjamin Daniel Brooks, Step-son; T.J. Lawson, sister; Christie Brooks Willis and husband, Tommy, mother-in-law; Stella Mae Johnson Morgan.

The family will receive friends and fellowship with covered dish meal from 5 to 6:30 PM Friday at the Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church. A celebration of life services will be conducted at 6:30 PM at the church with Rev. Frank Gilliam officiating.
