Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. – Proverbs 31:10 CHURCH HILL – Anna Eleanor Mellons, 86, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Signature HealthCare of Rogersville. Anna was born in Sullivan County and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Mellons; parents, Charlie Walker and Hester Lena Hensley Johnson; brothers, Ray Johnson and Alfred Johnson (Hazel); sisters, Mary Click (Tucker), Dora Campbell (Earnest), Elizabeth Bellamy (George), Wilma Ramsey (Hubert), and Lena Snodgrass. Anna is survived by her sons, Danny Mellons (JoAnn), Michael Mellons (Sheila), and Terry Mellons (Reta); daughter, Angela Hommel (Terry); grandchildren, Brett Mellons, Ray Collins, Joshua Mellons, Jason Mellons, April Mellons, Audrea Coffey, Hannah Dean, Amos Hommel, Caleb Hommel, Lindsea Graham, and Veronica O’Dell; six great grandchildren, sisters, Louise Kennedy and Freda Shuler (Rev. Jack); sister-in-law, Lorrine Johnson. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Freedom Baptist Church or anytime at Terry & Reta’s residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh, Rev. Gregg Graybeal, and Dr. Terry Hommel officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 14 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Danny Mellons, Michael Mellons, Terry Mellons, Terry Hommel, Joshua Mellons, Ray Collins, Jason Mellons, and Ryan Mellons. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Mellons, Amos Hommel, and Caleb Hommel. A special thank you to Signature HealthCare of Rogersville for all of the love and care provided to us.
