CHURCH HILL – Mary Louise Hilton, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, surrounded with family, while at Indian Path Community Hospital following an extended battle with dementia. Louise was a lifelong resident of Sullivan and Hawkins County. She resided the past few months at the Church Hill Life Care Center and the previous three years at Madison House assisted living in Kingsport. She was of the Methodist Faith, a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church, and a retiree of Eastman Chemical Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Mary Helton; sisters, Eleanor “Cotton” Hunter and Joyce Helton; brother, Kenneth Helton. Louise is survived by her sisters, Emma Belle Armstrong and Helen Christian; brothers, Eugene Hilton (Mary) and Jimmy Hilton (Barbara); special niece and caregiver, Robin Smith; special nieces Vicki Hunley and JoAnn Armstrong; special great niece, Rachel Smith; several other nieces and nephews. Special friend Janet Chambers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Reginia Shelton and Rev. Mike Webb officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 29 at Goshen Valley Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Garrett Smith, David Smith, Fred Armstrong, Ivan Armstrong, David Hunley and Frank Marsh. The family would like to thank all of those at Madison House, Church Hill Life Care and Indian Path Hospital who provided such loving care for Louise as well as everyone who visited, called, prayed for, and in all other ways have given love and support for her and the family.
