Carol Ann Orfield Sims

CHURCH HILL – Carol Ann Orfield Sims, 69, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Carol was born in Scott Co., VA in 1953. She was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was the cook manager at UETHDA for many years until she retired. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first; they were her entire world.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James, and Morine Orfield; daughter, Tonia Sims; grandsons, Shawn Bear, and Hosea White; sister, Betty Ball; brothers, James, Gene, and infant brother Michael Orfield.

Carol is survived by her loving husband Buck Sims, daughter, Sonya Sims; grandchildren, Teneea and Isaiah Bear, Zoey and Kyler Drinnon, Letty and Molly Worrall; great-grandchildren, Arian and Dixie Byrd, and Urijah White; and one brother, David Orfield.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow to Mount Mitchell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
