Kelley Lane Byington

CHURCH HILL -Kelley Lane Byington, 70, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.

Kelley was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County having lived most of his life in Surgoinsville. He was retired from the city of Church Hill Street Department and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his Wife, Maryland Byington in 2013; his parents, Johnny and Irene Christian Byington and his sister; Joanna Byington.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Byington; Daughter, Crystal Cookenour; five grandsons, Brandon and Blake Byington, and Adam, David, and Jacob Cookenour; three great granddaughters, Oakleigh, Brylee Byington, and Ellie Cookenour; Brothers, Wayne Byington (Mary) and Rick Byington (Ann).

A visitation will be held from 5 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch Russell officiating.
