Lydia Estel Stokes

KINGSPORT- Lydia Estel Stokes, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Lydia was born in Gate City, VA, on August 12, 1935, and lived most of her life in Yuma, Va. She was a caregiver to many over the years and she loved to read her bible.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Smith; parents, Dee and Effie Thacker; granddaughter, Crystal Stokes; sister, Shelby Thacker; and her brother, Buddy McAmis.

She is survived by her daughters, Teressa Price and Mildred Stokes; grandchildren, Tonya Miller, Sonya Price, Fred Price, Bill Stokes, Melissa Stokes, Heather Warren Watts, Deana Warren, Willie and Daniel Warren; 24 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brad Watts officiating. A graveside service will follow in procession to Cox cemetery.
