Rogersville, TN

Charles William (Bobby) Derrick, age 61, of Rogersville, TN , went home to be with the Lord, Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Derrick was born in South Carolina, had grew up in Hawkins County and graduated from Church Hill High School. He enlisted in the United States Army after High School and was stationed in Kentucky and was a member of the V.F.W. in Pine Grove, KY.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim D. Crawford and Margaret Ann Crawford, two brothers, David Kent Derrick and James D. Crawford.

Survivors include his daughters, Rebecca Kern and husband Keith, Wendie Derrick, grandchildren, Alex Douyotas, Cali Sword and June Kern. Brother, F. D. Derrick a wife, Janet, Uncle, Billy Helton, very special friend, Glenda Overbey, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his favorite four-legged friends, Roxanne Derrick and Cloie Lena Kern.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ron Grimes officiating.

Military graveside services will be conducted 10 AM Thursday at the McPheeters Bend Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee National Guard. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Thursday morning to go in procession to the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Derrick, Tanner Derrick, Jason Derrick, Matt Eppinger, David Blalock, Jr. and J.P. Pitts. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Helton, David Blalock, Sr., and Andy Derrick.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help the Derrick family with funeral expenses.
