CHURCH HILL – Anna Kay Mays, 73, passed away on July 9, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Anna Kay was born in Sullivan County, TN on June 3, 1951. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member at McFerrin United Methodist Church. Kay was a friend to all she met and had a heart of gold. She loved animals, and Kay said they were her life, especially her little dog, Daisy. She loved everyone and will be greatly missed. We know Kay is finally reunited with her late husband, Sam, whom she missed more than anything
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Ottie Snapp; her first husband, Gary Ratliff; her second husband, Sam Dennis May, Sr; and her brother, Paul David Snapp.
She is survived by her “adopted” children, Mike and Michelle Jackson; her precious little dog, Daisy; as well as many dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Regina Shelton, and Pastor Truman Ferguson officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at McPheeters Bend Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
