Archie McMillan, 68, of Church Hill, passed away Friday (December 9, 2016) following a short illness.Archie was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and attended Fall Creek Baptist Church. He was a graduate of ETSU and LMU. He was a retired employee of the Hawkins County Board of Education where he was a former principal of Church Hill Elementary School and Carters Valley Elementary and was a teacher and coach.He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Bea Hurd McMillan, brother, Otis McMillan, Jr., sister, Scheryl Hicks.He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ford McMillan, Church Hill; 1 son, Nick McMillan and wife, Heather, Church Hill; two step-sons, Eric Morelock and wife Aimee, Church Hill; Todd Morelock, Key West, Florida; two daughters, Morgan and Devinann McMillan; 2 grandchildren, Chloe Lane and Trey Lawson; brother-in-law; Tommy and Wanda Haynes; Eddie Hicks; several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday at Johnson-Arrowood funeral Home.Services will be conducted Saturday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tommy Haynes officiating. It was Archie’s request to be cremated.Pallbearers will be golfing and basement buddies.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CASA, 107 E.
