CHURCH HILL – Barbara Ellen Canter, 69, of Church Hill, passed away Sunday (February 28, 2016) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center following an extended illness.Mrs. Canter was a native of Louisiana and had lived in Church Hill for the past 35 years.She is preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Canter, Sr., and son, Scott Canter, her parents, Bernard and Emma Dunham Clancey and sister Diane.She is survived by her son, Stewart Canter, Church Hill; one sister, Patricia Bonnin, Gastonia, NC.Calling hours are from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
