SURGOINSVILLE – Bert Morgan Christian, 79, passed away Wednesday (May 20, 2015) at his home following an extended illness.Mr. Christian was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member of McPheeters Bend Missionary Baptist Church. Bert was a farmer and auctioneer.He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert M. Sr, and Maude Long Christian; three sisters, Lorene Christian, Eleanor Bruner and Dorothy Skelton; nephew, Jim Bruner.He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Newana Lambert Christian, Surgoinsville; two nieces, Jane Russell and Wanda Byington; three nephews, Sherrill Skelton, Rick Skelton and Vim Skelton.A very special thanks to everyone who helped with Bert’s care during his illness.Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.Services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
