CHURCH HILL – Carl Kenneth McMurry II, 62, was born on February 23, 1962, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center on June 14, 2024.

Kenny was of the Baptist faith and was saved at a young age. He was a proud member of the Jericho Shriners and had hoped to transport the children after his retirement. He was also a member of the Martin Station Lodge #188 and United Steelworkers Union #456. He worked at Cardinal Glass (Greenland) for 32 years.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Norma McMurry; sister, Karen McMurry; and his wife, Barbara McMurry.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; children, Robert and Kylie; sisters, Becky and Kay McMurry; numerous nieces, and nephews; as well as several aunts and uncles.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Church Hill Rescue Squad/EMS and Church Hill Police Department. Also, the Holston Valley ER, Trauma, Respiratory, Neurology, and all the ICU staff.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Dylan Middleton officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the McMurry Family Cemetery in 3380 Powell River Road, Tazwell, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Larry Allen, Darryl McPheron, Jerry Walters, and Rick Middleton.
