Delores Stapleton Nickelsville, VA Delores Stapleton, age 59, of Nickelsville, VA passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Stapleton was born in Hawkins County, TN, and had lived in Nickelsville, VA for the past 33 years. She was a member of the Calvary Worship Center in the Bloomingdale community. She is preceded in death by her parents; D.I. Simpson and Kathleen Ligh Simpson. Brother; Randall Simpson and Father-in-law; Alfred Stapleton. Survivors include her husband; Gary Stapleton of the home. Son; Travis Simpson and wife Crystal of Rogersville, Step-son; Tim Stapleton of Nickelsville. Grandchildren; Makenna and Zackery Simpson of Rogersville. Sister; Joan Easterling and husband, Roger of Nickelsville. Brothers; David Simpson and wife, Wanda of Rogersville, Bob Simpson of Rogersville, Rick Simpson of of Church Hill and Gary Simpson and wife, Cherylee of Kingsport. Mother-in-law; Muriel Stapleton of Nicklesville, brotherand sister-in-laws; Jack and Janice Stapleton, Wayne Stapleton, Shirley and Sam McConnell, Judy Stapleton and Nancy Odle. Several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of her son, Travis Simpson. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Bledsoe and Rev. Rex McMurray officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowser Cemetery, Rogersville, TN. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to the Stapleton family to help with medical expenses. The family would like to thank Dr. Leon Bass and Deloris's sister-in-laws Wanda Simpson, Janice Stapleton and Judy Stapleton for their special care during her time of illness.
