CHURCH HILL – Edward Garland Hutson, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence.
Edward was born September 15, 1943 in Kingsport, TN. He retired from Cantley-Ellis in 2000 due to declining health.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam J. and Margaret Benton Hutson; brothers, Marcel Hutson, Cecil Hutson, and Henry Hutson; sister, Carolyn Duncan; sister-in-laws, Jane and Elizabeth Hutson.
Survivors include his wife of 52 ½ years, Mazell Hutson; daughters, Teresa Williams and Louise Osborne; sons, Donald Hutson, Lynn Hutson (Nancy), and Dennis Hutson (Susan); 11 grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Megan), Christina Cox, Michael Cox and fiance Brandy, Britta Gibson and fiance Josh, Kayla Hutson (Josh), Justin Hutson, Kimberly Williams, Kaitlyn Williams, Tra Bolt (Jessie), Levi Rhoton, and Tyler Rhoton; 9 great grandchildren, Aiden “Little Eskimo” Cox, James “JC” Crawford, Aubree Williams, Parker Williams, Samuel Brooks, Emma Bolt, Duncan Bolt, Dawson Hemling, and Carson Cox (In July); special friend, Leigh “Sweet Pea”; special nephew, William Arnold (Linda); special niece, Linda Sue Whaley; several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating. The burial will follow to McPheeters Bend Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Christopher Smith, Justin Hutson, Michael Cox, George Hutson, William Arnold, Jerry Gilliam, Junior “June Bug” Gilliam, and Paul Overbay.
