MT. CARMEL – Freddy Lynn “Boots” Stout, 79, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at his residence.

Boots was born in Kingsport, TN on June 4, 1939. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County & proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Stella Stout; sister, Ann Stout.

Boots is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mattie Larkins Stout; daughters, Robyn Conner (Randy) & Pam Garetson (Garry); son, Mike Stout (Kim); grandchildren, Hunter Conner, Kelli Garetson, Brett Garetson, Scott Hammerbacher (Ashley), & Laurie Nelson (Chris); great grandchildren, Mattie, Olivia, Raef, Amelia, Caroline, & Merrick; brother, Ted Stout (Gladys).

A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating. A graveside service will be held at on 10:00 AM on Friday, January 25 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 AM.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International Church Hill/Mt. Carmel Camp #41018 P.O. Box 846 Church Hill, TN 37642, in his memory.
