Betty, I only recently learned of Fred'd passing in the car club newsletter. Needless to say I was shocked and saddened by the news. I remember him well standing at the door of Miss Elmore's home room waiting for you. This made you both among my oldest friends, I extend to you and the rest of the family my sincerest sympathy.

Fred was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was always a staunch supporter of our police department and always had a quick smile and genuine greeting whenever you would see him. I've always considered him a role model as a husband, father, and citizen.

Betty & Family, On behalf of the Dan'l Boone Region Antique Automobile Club of America, I would like to extend our sympathy to you and your family in the passing of Fred. Both of you were active and important leaders of our club in the formative years of our organization. I recall Fred being President of the Region when we hosted our first AACA National Meet and Fred's leadership in that major undertaking. While our paths have not crossed as much in recent years as Fred became more involved in politics, we remember many good times together and Fred's knowledge and leadership. We share your loss in his passing. Sincerely, Randy Still, Board Chairperson, Dan'l Boone Region AACA

Most of you don't know me; my connections with the Montgomery family go back a long way. From 1968 to 1971, fairly early in my career at Eastman, I shared an office with Graham Montgomery (Sr.) and Henry Powers. Graham came over to many as being the "quiet type". The Graham that I knew had a very great, rather dry since of humor and we shared lots of laughs over those three years. Graham and Henry both very much enjoyed playing Rook with their Eastman colleagues during lunch. Once, my wife, young son and I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Graham and Ruby at their home in Church Hill. I came to know Roger when his job brought him to Eastman Research. We would occasionally share stories about his dad. Roger's job was with personnel so it was up to him enforce certain rules. I always felt comfortable with him in that position knowing that from his family and Christian background he would always be fair when dealing with others. I did not know Graham Jr. (Fred) as well. I knew that he was about my age and I had some contact with him when he worked in the Research shops. I knew that he had an interest in antique cars. Reading Fred's obituary this morning brought back many pleasant memories and a few tears. I was truly blessed to have known them all. May God grant you comfort and strength as you continue the traditions and the principles of your family. (Mr.) Jean Fleischer
