February 11, 1945 ~ January 3, 2015CHURCH HILL- Gene Gary Edwards, 69, of Church Hill, went to his heavenly home on Friday (January 2, 2015) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.Born in Clintwood, VA, he was retired from Eastman Chemical Company after 33 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Church Hill and also of Clay Masonic Lodge, #386. Gene was the son of the late Edgar Edwards and Nell Robinson Edwards of Coeburn, VA.In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson, Bailey Quinn Edwards, brothers, John Bill Edwards of Bristol, VA and Ron Edwards of Gray, TN.Gene is survived by his wife, Wanda Edwards of the home, son and daughter in law, Brent and Simone Edwards, granddaughter, Abbie Edwards of Kingsport, sisters in law, June Roller and Teresa Marsh of Church Hill, Shelby Edwards of Bristol, VA and Nina Edwards of Gray, TN, and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 Tuesday at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill.Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating.Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Marsh Cemetery.
