MOUNT CARMEL – George Franklin Necessary, 81, went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 after an extended illness.

George was born on June 8, 1939. Formerly of Kingsport, TN, George lived the last 32 years in Mount Carmel, TN with his loving wife Helen Simpson Necessary. He worked a while for Red Barns and for 33 ½ years at Don Hill Pontiac in Kingsport, TN. He was of the Apostolic faith and enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Arc Cimdee Necessary, and Looney Phillips Necessary: brothers, Willard Necessary, Harvey and wife, Hazel Johnson Necessary; sisters, Gladys Necessary Bishop and husband Jack, Thelma Necessary Winegar, and husband Herbert; and one nephew, Michael “Mickey” Winegar.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Helen Simpson Necessary; nieces, Brenda Sue Carter Skinner, and Rita Stroupe; great nephews, Daniel Bishop, and James, Jeffery, and Michael Carter; special cousin, Shelby Nottingham; a host of friends and extended family members.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or anytime at the home. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Gene Webb and Rev. Howard Edwards will be officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 16 at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Arnold, David Arnold, David Barnes, Willie Simpson, Jr.
