CHURCH HILL – Hale Reece Benton, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Hale was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barlow and Lillian Long Benton; son, Dylan R. Benton.
Hale is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margie Benton; daughters, Renita Mabe (Gary), Jerree Fields, and Camilla Davis (Joel); grandchildren, Ashley Mabe, Brittany Dillender (Sam) and Briar Davis; great grandchildren, Ayden Dillender and Jayda Dillender.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt & Rev. Mitch Russell officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13 at McPheeters Bend Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
Pallbearers will be Bob Collins, Vaux Sisk, Freddie Castle, George Gilreath, Sam Dillender, and Gary Mabe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joel Davis, Briar Davis, and Ayden Dillender.
