James Michael Simpson Johnson Funeral Home Church Hill, TN Obituary Notice Kingsport, TN James Michael Simpson, age 53, of Kingsport passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was born in Kingsport, and was retired from the United States Air Force, having served overseas during Desert Storm and Afghanistan before retiring and moving back to the area in April of 2011. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Pine View Freewill Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents; Floyd and Nina Simpson and Leslie and Eula Orrick. Mother and Father-In-law: Ray and Betty Blanton. Survivors include his wife; Becky Blanton Simpson of the home, Daughter; Rebecca Clare Simpson of the home. His parents; Cliff and Pat Simpson of Mount Carmel, sister; Karen Simpson Cooper and husband, Martin of Knoxville. 3 nephews. Calling hours are from 7 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence of his parents, Cliff and Pat Simpson. Military graveside services will be conducted 1 PM Thursday at the Mt. Mitchell Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Harris officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee National Guard. Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee National Guard will serve as pallbearers.
